Escalation of violence: Israeli strikes in Syria cause 8 victims, including 6 civilians

Israeli strikes on Homs, in central Syria, resulted in the deaths of eight people, including six civilians—one of whom was a woman and another, a child—as well as two fighters linked to Lebanese Hezbollah. This data was provided by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH).

These attacks intensified in the context of the continuing conflict in the Gaza Strip between Israel and Hamas, targeting pro-Iranian factions, including Hezbollah, an ally of the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad.

The Syrian Defense Ministry described these strikes, which originated from northern Lebanon, as an act of Israeli attack against various sites in Homs, leading to civilian casualties. Rescue operations in the aftermath were shown in television broadcasts, showing the efforts to navigate the wreckage of a demolished building.
