Ex EU Commision head Delors dies at 98

Former European Commission (EC) President Jacques Delors passed away on Wednesday at the age of 98, as reported by AFP, citing Delors’s daughter.

The media reported that the official, who played a crucial role in the establishment of the euro currency, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Paris.

Delors held the position of EC head from 1985 to 1995, and before that, he served as Minister of Economy and Finance between 1981 and 1984 under French President François Mitterrand.
