Exclusive-December 13 measures: G7 applauds with both hands and dictates aid conditions

The G7 had diplomatically blessed the extraordinary operation of the head of state, Kais Saied, it has just hailed with both hands the decisions taken on December 13, 2021, in the evening.

A source close to the G7 told Tunisie Numérique that the group is eased to know that there is ultimately visibility on the political and institutional levels, with clear deadlines for elections, the return of Parliament, etc.

For Tunisia’s partners, this is an excellent working ground to fix the political crisis and put the country back on the rails of democracy … When it comes to the sinews of war, money, which Tunisia sorely needs to perk up, the G7 is ready to support the country as much as essential and to provide it with all the means to restore its economy. Though there is a condemnation: that the structural reforms pledged and constantly postponed for 10 years to be undertaken.

Tunisia will have to make considerable progress in this area to return to the good graces of its donors … The President of the Republic, who has once again cherished his supporters in his long speech, will have to venture this task head-on with undoubtedly very painful announcements for the same people he is coaxing.

He will have to cut his arm or outright a leg to preserve Tunisia. In any case, the G7 will observe this very closely, but not just him, the IMF as well
