Fire put out at Novatek’s Baltic terminal after two explosions

The fire in the port of Novatek’s Ust-Luga Baltic terminal that started last night has been completely extinguished, the head of the administration of Kingisepp district Yuri Zapalatsky said in a Telegram post on Monday.

Zapalatsky earlier said that the fire was caused by two explosions, while some media reported that the facility came under attack by two drones. The company called the fire a “probable result of an external impact.”

Due to this incident, the technological process of Novatek was halted. This facility refines stable gas condensate into light and heavy oil, kerosene, diesel fraction, and marine fuel components (fuel oil), with finished products exported by sea.
