First partner in sub-Saharan Africa, Tunisia strengthens its trade with Senegal

By:

Senegal places itself as Tunisia’s leading trading partner in sub-Saharan Africa, earning an export volume of 267 million Tunisian dinars in 2023, i.e. a rate of 17% in the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region, and registering an increase of 42% compared to the previous year.

A multi-sectoral business mission is organized in Senegal, from May 13 to 15, 2024. To this end, a Tunisian-Senegalese economic forum began in Dakar in the presence of more than three hundred Senegalese economic operators and the participation of approximately fifteen Tunisian companies working in various sectors, including agriculture & agri-food, construction and construction materials, the medical and pharmaceutical sector, notebooks and school stationery, as well as services.

The forum is a chance to present the Tunisian offer as well as the results of trade between Tunisia and Senegal. It is likewise an opportunity to evaluate the business climate in Senegal and the investment mechanisms and facilitations in the country.

On the sidelines of this Forum, a partnership deal was signed between the Tunisian economic interest group We Value and the School of Oratory Art and Leadership (EAOL).

The Tunisian-Senegalese business forum stands out as a dynamic platform for connection and cooperation between entrepreneurs from the two countries, orchestrated by an intensive B2B day and a flamboyant networking evening in the Senegalese capital, Dakar.

These two prominent networking events generated more than 400 business contacts, bringing together 15 Tunisian companies and 300 Senegalese economic actors, as well as three new partnership contracts.

These meetings bring together different strategic sectors, with particular emphasis on the agri-food industry, the pharmaceutical industry, construction materials and services.

Beyond the B-to-B exchanges and the networking dinner, company visits enriched the event agenda.
