France backs ICC’s bid for Netanyahu arrest

France’s foreign ministry backed the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) move to pursue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

The foreign ministry joined Switzerland, underscoring the court’s independence and the imperative of combating impunity.

It comes after France’s allies like the United States objected to the move, where President Joe Biden denounced the decision as “outrageous.”
