G-a-z-a: More than 1.8 million suffer from extreme hunger

Nearly 100% of Gaza’s population has been plunged into poverty, with a ruined economy and “staggering” unemployment after more than a year of war, the International Labour Organization (ILO) said yesterday, Thursday.

According to the UN agency based in Geneva, this situation reflects the catastrophic condition of Gazan families, who are struggling to meet their basic needs in the Palestinian enclave.

This continuous war has decimated livelihoods, leaving hundreds of thousands of workers without income and pushing families even further into poverty, unable to meet their most basic needs.
