In a statement issued on Monday, the Executive Office of the General Transport Union called on all stakeholders in the sector, particularly individual taxi drivers, to abide by the law and refrain from using the private taxi passenger transport application, due to its “numerous violations that have negatively impacted the sector’s activity and the interests of citizens.”
The union explained that complaints concerning this application have been circulating regarding its negative repercussions, both in terms of unfair competition and infringement on the rights of professionals. This, it asserted, requires “unified action by all to enforce compliance with the laws regulating the sector, guarantee equal opportunities, and protect the livelihoods of thousands of workers.”
The General Transport Union stressed the need to adhere to applicable laws and refrain from using any platform that violates the applicable legal framework, urging “all colleagues to adhere to these recommendations in defence of the interests and stability of the sector.”
