Germany adds record 33,949 COVID cases

The number of daily confirmed coronavirus infections in Germany grew by a record of 33,949 over the past 24 hours, data the country’s Robert Koch Institute showed.

The total number of confirmed infections in the country since the start of the pandemic now stands at 4,672,368.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the disease climbed by 165 since the previous day to reach a total of 96,192.
