Germany recommends boosters for all adults

The German Robert Koch Institute’s Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) said on Thursday it is recommending all people over the age of 18 to receive coronavirus vaccine booster shots.

STIKO stressed that priority for boosters should be given to high-risk groups, including people over the age of 70, and noted people should receive an mRNA jab as their booster regardless of which vaccine they initially got.

The recommendation comes as the COVID-19 situation in the country remains serious with the seven-day incidence rate at an all-time high.
