Berlin will join Washington in supplying an additional Patriot air defense military battery to Ukraine, the White House revealed in a joint statement following the telephone conversation between US President Joe Biden and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Thursday.
In accordance with the statement, both countries intend to deliver combat vehicles to Ukraine, with the US providing Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Germany planning to deliver Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Kiev, with both countries offering training to “Ukrainian forces on the respective systems.” The Associated Press earlier reported citing sources that the Biden administration will likely unveil a $2.85 billion-worth weapons package on January 6.
