The global periodic number of newly recorded coronavirus infections reached an all-time high over the past 24 hours with 643,043 cases confirmed on November 12, data collected from health authorities globally showed on Friday.

The record surge in contaminations comes after the world’s most affected country, the United States, listed its largest daily jump in cases. The total number of contaminations confirmed at a global level since the commencement of the pandemic now stands at over 53 million.

Meanwhile, the number of daily deaths among COVID-19 patients stood at 9,669. The largest global daily death toll from the disease was recorded a day earlier when over 10,000 people died from the virus.
