Global virus count jumps by record 545,499

The number or COVID-19 cases reported globally increased by 545,499 during the day on Thursday, marking a second-in-a-row daily surge in contaminations higher than half a million, Worldometer’s tally registered.

The number of coronavirus infections surpassed the 45-million figure earlier in the day, with the United States, India, and Brazil accounting for more than half of the cases registered worldwide.

According to the website’s data, the virus has killed 1,185,734 since the start of the outbreak.
