Gross disposable income per capita will reach 15,026 dinars in 2024

By:

Gross disposable income per capita is projected to reach 15,026.7 dinars in 2024, compared to 13,695.4 dinars in 2023, reflecting a notable increase of 1,331.3 dinars or 9.7%, as outlined in the assumptions of the development plan for the upcoming year. This plan aims for a GDP growth of 2.1%, a significant improvement from the 0.9% growth forecasted for the current year, according to the 2024 economic budget document.

The document emphasizes that the growth projections for 2024 were determined by considering the evolution of external and internal factors influencing the economic and social situation. Factors taken into account include the development of external demand, the fluctuation of commodity prices, and the impact of measures addressing water scarcity.

Additionally, the data reveals that growth estimates were established based on fundamental assumptions. Notably, these include a 1.8% increase in the value-added of the agricultural sector at constant prices, a 2.2% evolution of the added value of the industrial sector, and a 1.9% growth in the added value of the services sector. The latter is attributed to the consistent positive performance in the tourism and information technology and communication sectors.

It is emphasized that the achievement of these results is contingent upon implementing necessary reforms to address the economic and financial crisis. This involves adopting an economic growth model that ensures an adequate pace of mobilizing external resources, thereby promoting investment and exports to generate employment.

The document underscores that the growth objective for 2024 falls below available capacities and opportunities, necessitating additional efforts to create a positive shock that can bolster growth and restore financial balances.
