Haiti declares 2-week state of emergency after president’s murder

Haiti announced on Wednesday a two-week-long state of emergency in an effort to pursue the killers of late President Jovenel Moise , who was killed last night in his home, according to an official gazette.

Furthermore, it was reported that the group behind the assassination likely consists of foreign shooters. Moise was killed at his private residence by unknown gunmen, while his wife Martine Marie Etienne was severely wounded during the shooting.
