Haiti prime minister resigns amid political turmoil

Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry resigned from his position, marking the end of his unelected term that started in 2021 following the assassination of the country’s president, Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM) leader and Guyana President Irfaan Ali announced.

“We acknowledge the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry upon the establishment of a transitional presidential council and the naming of an interim prime minister,” the announcement read.
