Hannibal Mejbri Victim of Racism!!

Tunisian international player Hannibal Mejbri was subjected to racist chants this Saturday evening during his team Burnley’s match against Preston North, by Montenegrin player Milutin Osmajić.

This incident led to the match being stopped for no more than 5 minutes at the start of the second half before the fourth official recorded what was said by the player toward Hannibal, who was substituted in the 70th minute.

Hannibal posted on his Instagram page, saying:
“I will not stay silent about what happened today. I will continue to expose racism whenever I hear or see it.

This is the only way we can change as a sport and as a society.

I am a strong person, but no one should have to endure such disgusting abuse on the field.”
