Hunter Biden sues IRS over privacy breach

United States President Joe Biden’s son Hunter sued on Monday the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) over what he believes is a violation of his privacy due to the agency sharing information about his financial dealings with the public and Congress.

“[T]he lawsuit is about the decision by IRS employees [Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler], their representatives, and others to disregard their obligations and repeatedly and intentionally publicly disclose and disseminate Mr. Hunter Biden’s protected tax return information outside the exceptions for making disclosures in the law,” Biden’s lawyer Abbe Lowell penned in the papers filed with the US District Court in the District of Columbia.
