Former MP of the dissolved Parliament, Imed Khmiri, appeared this Tuesday before the senior investigative judge of the Tunis First Instance Court. After his interrogation, it was decided to keep him free while ordering his submission to judicial weighing.
Imed Khmiri was interviewed as part of an investigation into the virtual parliamentary session held in March 2022, during which members of the dissolved Parliament examined annulling presidential decrees issued after July 25, 2021.
The Tunis First Instance Court’s public prosecution had ordered an investigation into the former MPs who participated in this session.
The charges include forming a group with the intent to commit offences, participating in a conspiracy to harm property and individuals, as well as alleged actions aimed at altering the structure of the state and inciting unrest.
