In a statement released on the commemoration of the 85th Anniversary of Martyrs’ Day (April 9), Ennahdha movement warned, on Sunday, against the total collapse of the State because of the “populist” decisions made by President of the Republic Kais Saied. More particularly, the movement criticized the Head of State’s refusal to negotiate with the International Monetary Fund (IM) without providing any alternative solutions to Tunisia’s crisis.
Ennahdha party underlined that Saied’s decisions could lead to the loss of Tunisia’s national gains and plunge the country into utter chaos.
The Islamist party reiterated its call to preserve the rights and freedoms ensured following the Tunisian Revolution of December 17-January 14.
The Head of State announced that he had refused the conditions set by the IMF, the statement recalls.
