India’s Health and Family Welfare Ministry confirmed the number of COVID-19 cases registered during the day in the country landed at 17,296 on Thursday, increasing by 374 compared to the number seen the day before and marking a record high for the South Asian nation.
Following the added numbers India’s total infections reached 490,401. In the meantime, the country’s coronavirus death toll increased to 15,301, after health authorities confirmed 407 additional virus-related fatalities during the day.
