Indonesian authorities say 45 died in earthquake

Head of Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management Doni Monardo affirmed there had so far been 45 victims of the earthquake that knocked the country’s island of Sulawesi.

Monardo told Kompas TV the safety forces were still searching for those, alive or deceased, that could be trapped under the ruins.

Earlier in the day, a 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Majene Regency in the province of West Sulawesi. The shake was preceded by a 5.7-magnitude foreshock.
