Iran’s daily COVID-19 deaths rise to 107, highest since mid-April

A total of 107 people died from the coronavirus in Iran over the past 24 hours, Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said on Sunday. The new rise in daily deaths is the highest since mid-April. Sadat Lari added that the new figures bring the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Iran to 8,837.

Meanwhile, 2,472 new cases of the disease were reported since the previous update. Iran has registered 187,427 COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

The spokeswoman also noted that over 1.2 million coronavirus tests have been administered in the country so far.
