Irish Foreign Minister calls for accountability in light of Israeli killing of 9 Palestinians in Jenin

The Tánaiste, Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Defence, Micheál Martin TD, Tuesday has called in a statement for accountability following the Israeli aggressive assault on the occupied West Bank city of Jenin and its refugee camp, which killed nine Palestinians and injured dozens others, WAFA news agency reported.

“I am appalled by the violence during an operation of the Israeli security forces in Jenin today, resulting in death and injury of civillians, including children,” he said. “Ireland has been clear that the protection of civillians must be paramount and is an obligation under international humantarian law.”

“Ireland underlines the need for accountability in respect of civillian deaths,” adds the same source.
