Italy confirms 165 new deaths from COVID-19,tally hits 30,560

Deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy jumped by 165 on Sunday, bringing the death toll to 30,560, the Civil Protection Agency said.

The toll of active infections on Sunday dropped by 1,518, setting the total at 83,324.

Meanwhile, recoveries proceeded to soar, jumping to 105,186 as more patients left intensive care, reducing pressure on Italy’s overwhelmed healthcare system.
