Italy’s daily COVID cases at new record of 126,888

The number of infections from coronavirus recorded daily in Italy hit another record high on Thursday, for the third day in a row, with 126,888. The country now counts a total of 5,981,428 registered since the beginning of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the figure for deaths linked to COVID-19 grew by 156 in the past 24 hours to reach 137,244.
