Japanese government passed a fresh package of sanctions against Moscow over the war in Ukraine, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry announced on Monday.
The new measure directly affects 21 organizations associated with the defense industry and bans the export of chemical weapons-related goods. Among the affected organizations are the Moselektronproyekt company, the Etalon research and production association, the Energia company, and the Alikhanov Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics of the Kurchatov National Research Center.
“Japan is deeply concerned about the possibility of nuclear weapons used during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine,” Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno (pictured) said in a press briefing.
