Japan struck by 6.6 magnitude earthquake

A 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit northeastern Japan on Saturday, local media reported. There are currently no casualties and no tsunami warning has been issued.

The earthquake struck below the surface of the sea some 60 km away from the coast of the Miyagi Prefecture and was felt in Tokyo.
