The Japanese company YKK Tunisia inaugurated on October 11, 2023, a new plant specializing in the production of zippers for clothing at the Neotex Finishing Zone, Khnis governorate of Monastir covering an area of 13 thousand square meters.
This factory currently employs the most advanced technologies in the field of textile and clothing accessories and is predicted to produce 17 million zippers per year.
The inauguration ceremony this year coincides with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of YKK Tunisia. The Tunisian subsidiary of the YKK Group has been active in Tunisia since 1997. Its turnover has been assessed in 2023 at around 10 million euros.
Remark that Japan appeared in 2022 among the Top 5 countries emitting FDI in Tunisia with an investment amount of around 44 MTND.
As a reminder, 19 Japanese companies providing about 15,000 jobs in numerous sectors are currently present in Tunisia. After the successful organization of TICAD8 in Tunisia last year, these Japanese investments in Tunisia will be expected to consolidate and increase considerably.
