Julian Assange not to get extradited to US

District Judge Vanessa Baraitser dismissed on Monday the request for extradition of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Assange, hence, will not be extradited to the US to face charges over Wikileaks, a judge decreed.

Assange was indicted of 18 counts of conspiring to hack government computers and of breaching a secrecy law by publishing various confidential military records and diplomatic links more than ten years ago.

The Judge stated she discovered no evidence the US prosecutors “have every intention of punishing Mr. Assange,” and added that because of his mental health, extradition would be “oppressive.”
