Kais Saïed Demands a Full Audit of Confiscated Assets

President Kais Saïed met on Thursday, February 20, 2025, with Finance Minister Michket Slama Khaldi at the Carthage Palace to examine the issue of confiscated assets and the irregularities surrounding their management. He called for a thorough reassessment of the case and demanded its final closure, criticizing the delays and dysfunctions in the liquidation process.

Saïed also denounced the prolonged existence of the committee responsible for liquidating the assets of the dissolved Constitutional Democratic Rally (RCD), which was disbanded in 2011. He questioned how, fourteen years after the revolution, this committee continued to acquire public funding without achieving its task. He suggested that this raises doubts about the true dissolution of the party, hinting at the possible formation of parallel structures under different names.

The president emphasised the need to end administrative and financial mismanagement, emphasizing that public resources must be managed transparently and efficiently. He reaffirmed his commitment to structural reforms, ensuring that confiscated assets are allocated to projects serving the public interest.
