Kais Saïed: “Tunisia will never forget its martyrs”

President Kaïs Saïed met with Minister of National Defense Khaled S’hili at the Carthage Palace on January 8, 2025. During the meeting, the president praised the unwavering efforts of the Tunisian armed forces in safeguarding the nation’s integrity and ensuring stability against threats.

The talk also addressed amendments to Decree No. 20 of 2022, establishing “Fida,” an institution supporting victims of terrorist attacks, including military personnel, internal security forces, customs agents, and the families of martyrs and revolution casualties. The amendments, recently approved by the parliament, reflect the nation’s gratitude to those who sacrificed for Tunisia’s freedom, dignity, and sovereignty.

This announcement coincided with the commemoration of the martyr of Thala, with the president affirming Tunisia’s commitment to honouring its martyrs and supporting the injured to uphold the nation’s independence and freedom.
