Kirby: Temporary pier not enough for aid delivery

United States National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby told Al-Jazeera on Friday that the temporary pier the US built is not enough to deliver all the humanitarian aid needed for the people in Gaza and urged Israel to open land crossings for aid delivery.

“It’s not enough getting in right now. This temporary pier is not enough all on its own to get the food, water, and medicine to the Palestinians in Gaza they so desperately need. We have to get those land crossings open as soon as possible. Clearly, not enough is being done to open up the crossings. That’s just unacceptable,” Kirby stated, stressing aid trucks are waiting at three land crossings.
