Kuwait emir, 91, flies to US for medical care after surgery

Kuwait’s emir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, 91, has travelled to the US to obtain medical treatment, the official KUNA news agency announced early Thursday.  

Sheikh Sabah, who has ruled Kuwait since 2006, underwent successful surgery on Sunday, his office said this week, for an unspecified condition.
