The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior reported that “the death toll from a fire that broke out in a building housing nearly 200 employees in the Mangaf area, which is crowded with foreign workers in Kuwait, has grown to 49 individuals.”
This morning, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information announced that “more than 30 casualties and dozens of injuries occurred as a result of a fire in the Al-Mangaf area in Al-Ahmadi Governorate.”
Eid Al-Owaihan, Director of Forensic Evidence at the Ministry of Interior, explained to state television that “the building in which the flames caught fire is employed to accommodate workers.”
He also added that “the fire brigades are inspecting all parts of the building,” noting that “some of the deceased are still at the fire site,” emphasising that “most of the deaths were registered due to suffocation.”
