Latest updates: Russia’s war in Ukraine (Ukrainian Embassy in Tunisia)

MILITARY-POLITICAL SITUATION IN UKRAINE

  • The Armed Forces of Ukraine have penetrated the primary Russian defensive line on the Zaporizhzhia front and are now developing the achieved success.
  • Russia is trying to devalue the achievements of the Ukrainian Defence Forces during the counteroffensive with propaganda and disinformation.
  • Ukraine is grateful to its partners for their support. Ukraine uses Western military assistance as efficiently, transparently, and responsibly as possible.

MASS MURDER IN KHARKIV REGION

  • On October 5, 51 civilians were killed as a result of a Russian missile attack on the village of Hroza in Kharkiv Region. The Russian strike is the biggest mass murder of civilians since the full-scale invasion. In one moment, the Russians killed one in six residents of Hroza, including a 6-year-old child. People who got together for a memorial event fell victim to an enemy attack.
  • The attack was not an accident – the strike was precisely targeted to a small building. Russian terror cannot be stopped by negotiations. Without proper punishment, evil will only multiply.

MEETING OF EUROPEAN UNION FOREIGN MINISTERS IN KYIV

  • On October 2, a meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the EU Member States was held in Kyiv. This is the first such meeting outside the EU in history. The act of European diplomats shows that the future of Ukraine is in the EU.
  • The European Union’s support for Ukraine is a global repulse to authoritarianism because other dictatorial regimes are closely watching how Russian aggression against Ukraine will end.

CASES OF RUSSIAN MILITARY REFUSING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE AGGRESSION

  • According to media reports, Senior Lieutenant of the Aviation Squadron of the Russian Guard Gavrichenko, while on holiday in the UAE, asked for protection from the U.S. Embassy and stated his unwillingness to fight against Ukraine.
  • The example of Captain Maxim Kuzminov, who brought Russian Mi-8 helicopter to Ukraine, shows that there is an opportunity to make the right choice.
  • Each person can choose to continue to serve evil or switch to the side of good. The argument “I was only following orders” is not an excuse for war crimes. Ukraine and the West are ready to protect Russian servicemen from the revenge of the dictatorial regime, provide material assistance and decent living conditions.
