Lebanon: 100,000 displaced since clashes with Israel started

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati (pictured) stated on Thursday that since the clashes with Israel commenced in October 2023, as many as 100,000 people have been displaced from the southern part of Lebanon.

While delivering a speech at the Council of Ministers, Mikati further detailed that 313 individuals have been killed, while 1,000 have been injured in the past seven months. The prime minister also mentioned that 800 hectares of agricultural land have been destroyed.

He called on the international community to denounce “the attacks and demand that the enemy be deterred, the war be stopped, [and] peace be established.”
