Lebanon- Four dead, 20 wounded after blast in Beirut

At least four people were killed and several injured late Friday after an explosion in Beirut’s Tariq al-Jadideh, the Lebanese Red Cross said.

After the Red Cross secretary-general initially said two people had died, the agency tweeted that the number had risen to four.

Local media also reported that “the number of people injured in the explosion in Al-Maqasid Hospital is increasing, and has exceeded 20,” explaining that “a number of civil defence personnel who were suffocated were treated.”
