Libya-High Council of State wants to sever ties with UAE

The Libyan High Council of State (HCS) has urged the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord to conduct a  vote on severing bonds with the United Arab Emirates for its assistance for Khalifa Haftar’s forces in their assault on Tripoli.

In a meeting on Monday, Al-Mishri stated there should be a conclusion to the interference of the countries backing “the aggression” on Tripoli and asked for conclusive measures to deter those countries.

The HCS members also requested the UN to review the work of its mission in Libya, attacking its Head Ghassan Salame of straying from his role and looking away from the external interventions in Libya.
