Liz Truss named as UK’s next prime minister

Liz Truss has been elected the next leader of the Conservative Party and is set to become the next prime minister of the United Kingdom, succeeding outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Liz Truss received 81,326 votes or around 57.4% during the contest, while former finance secretary Rishi Sunak secured 60,399 votes, finishing second.
