Long way to go to overcome COVID-19 pandemic – WHO official

World Health Organization Representative to Russia announced on Monday that COVID-19 that the pandemic is not likely to cease in the subsequent few months.

“It’s not a matter of months but we need to move forward,” Vujnovic told TASS, adding there is a long way to go to overcome the pandemic. “We must learn to live with the virus and stop it from controlling our lives,” she stressed.

The WHO official pointed out the pandemic will be over “once a vaccine makes it possible to reach the necessary level of immunity … once we start acting based on the understanding that the virus exists in the population and won’t go anywhere, it’s here to stay, like other viruses.”
