At the opening of the humanitarian conference on Gaza in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron declared on Thursday that France would give an additional 80 million euros for humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, bringing the total for this year to 100 million euros.
For his part, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry condemned during the conference “the international silence concerning the violations of international humanitarian law committed by the Zionist entity” in the Palestinian territories.
Egypt’s foreign minister stated what the occupation government is doing goes beyond the right to self-defence, denouncing a “shaking” in the “global conscience.” He emphasised that Cairo rejects any attempt to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
