In anticipation of potential weather fluctuations in the coming period, the Governor of Manouba, Mahmoud Chouaib, chaired a Regional Disaster Response and Relief Organization Committee meeting on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the governorate headquarters. The meeting was attended by Anis Abdelhadi, the Secretary-General of the Governorate, Rachid Saamli, the First Delegate, local delegates, the Regional Director of Civil Protection, municipal officials, security services, and all committee members.
The session aimed to evaluate the readiness of various administrative structures to respond swiftly and effectively to any emergency, ensuring the protection of human lives and public and private property. Preventive measures were examined in anticipation of heavy rain, as forecasted by the National Institute of Meteorology in its bulletin issued on February 6.
The governor underscored the importance of vigilance, checking equipment and machinery, positioning resources in high-risk areas, and ensuring efficient interventions when necessary. He also instructed that the committee remain in permanent session, activate local committees, coordinate efforts between different entities, and ensure the availability of staff and continuous duty shifts throughout the week, including weekends and holidays.
Additionally, municipal officials were urged to take proactive measures and maintain the electrical grid to prevent electrocution hazards.
Committee members affirmed their readiness to intervene immediately when required, mobilizing human and logistical resources and ensuring the availability of medical supplies and healthcare facilities at both regional and local levels.
