Former President of the Republic Moncef Marzouki revealed that his brother, Mokhles Marzouki, was summoned this Monday, November 11, to the police station of El Kantaoui (governorate of Sousse) to initial a document notifying him that Moncef Marzouki’s case had been referred to the Anti-Terrorist Judicial Unit. The architect of the CPR (Congress for the Republic) is facing 20 charges including provoking internal unrest, spreading false information, etc.
On the same day, Marzouki posted on Facebook that he had been convicted to four years and eight years in prison in two separate cases. It’s clear he has no intention of returning to his homeland to face the judicial ordeals awaiting him.
He concluded his Monday outburst with a famous quote, borrowed from Abou el Kacem Chebbi: “The darkness will dissipate!” Let us remember that in November 2021 he announced his big comeback to face it, but as the late Jacques Chirac and Charles Pasqua said, “Promises only bind those who believe them”…
