Mediterranean: Djerba ranked among best islands

The travel site The Planet has named the 18 best Mediterranean islands, including the Island of Djerba.

Djerba is featured alongside prominent islands in the region such as Majorca and Menorca (Spain), Santorini and Corfu (Greece), Sicily and Capri (Italy), Hvar (Croatia), and Cyprus.

The travel guide, named a Top Travel Influencer by Forbes magazine, states the island of Djerba, located off the southeastern coast of Tunisia, “is full of natural beauty and spectacular desert landscapes.”

“We were impressed by its uncrowded location and the mix of Berber, Arab, African and Jewish cultures,” said the site’s travel experts. The island is home to exquisite beaches. It is a true cultural centre with attractions such as fishing ports and craft markets.
