The number of fatalities resulting from the stage collapse at the rally of Mexican opposition presidential candidate Jorge Alvarez Maynez has increased to nine, with over 60 attendees injured, Alvarez confirmed on Thursday.
The incident occurred during a campaign event held by the presidential candidate of the Civic Movement Party when strong winds caused the stage to collapse during his meeting in Nuevo Leon, northern Mexico.
