As part of the ongoing monitoring of the health condition of the two students wounded in the tragic accident in Mezzouna, Dr. Abderrazek Bouzouita, Director General of Health, visited the Habib Bourguiba University Hospital in Sfax today to check on their condition.
This visit was carried out in cooperation with the hospital’s medical and administrative team, and all necessary steps were taken to ensure their proper care.
During his visit, Dr. Bouzouita started by offering his condolences to the families of the three individuals who lost their lives in the accident, stating:
“We pray for the souls of our three martyrs who passed away in this tragic accident that has deeply affected us all, and we ask God to grant patience to their families.”
He added:
“This visit is part of the ongoing monitoring of the health status of the injured, and in line with the Ministry of Health’s directives, we are closely following their condition and providing full support to the injured.”
The Director General of Health explained that the first student had undergone emergency surgery, stating that the medical team was fully prepared and had timely access to the necessary blood and resources. The student’s condition has significantly improved; he is conscious and showing signs of recovery.
As for the second student, he sustained minor injuries and is doing well. He is expected to be discharged and return home soon. Dr. Bouzouita expressed hope that both students would resume their studies once recovered, stating:
“Insha’Allah, they will succeed in their baccalaureate exams and return to their friends and families.”
Finally, Dr. Abderrazek Bouzouita stressed that the Ministry of Health is closely monitoring all medical procedures and is committed to providing comprehensive care for those injured in such accidents, stressing the importance of returning to normal life after recovery.
