Michelle O’Neill sworn in as First Minister of Northern Ireland

Lawmakers in Northern Ireland have picked Sinn Fein’s Michelle O’Neill to become Northern Ireland’s first-ever nationalist leader, marking a significant milestone in the region’s political landscape.

“We mark a moment of equality and progress. A new opportunity to work and grow together,” she stated in her speech before the newly formed Northern Ireland Assembly on Saturday.
