Mobilization of teachers in Sfax: Call for protest movement on April 15 and 16

University sections and education unions in Sfax have issued a call to all education stakeholders in the region to join in demonstration action on Monday and Tuesday, April 15th and 16th.

This action will involve a 20-minute strike beginning at 10 a.m., during which participants will wear red armbands. Also, a rally is planned at the headquarters of the regional education delegation in Sfax on Tuesday, April 16th, starting at 8 a.m.

This mobilization coincides with the holding of a disciplinary council regarding Abdulkarim Souissi, secretary general of the university section for basic education in Sfax, and Lobna Gharbi, director of the August 13 preparatory school.

The unions denounce the disciplinary sanctions considered “unfair and arbitrary” taken against their colleagues, in particular, the temporary suspension of their functions and their referral to the disciplinary council, stressing the specificity and exceptionality of their case.
