Moderna CEO: Pandemic may be in its final phase

Moderna CEO Stephane Bancel (pictured) said on Wednesday that it is “reasonable” to think we are close to the end of the pandemic.

During an interview with CNBC’s Squawk Box Asia, he mentioned that “there is an 80% chance that as Omicron evolves or SarsCov-2 virus evolves, we are going to see less and less virulent viruses.”

He further added that fortunately, the Omicron strain was not “very virulent,” however, he pointed to the fact that still there are “thousands of people dying every day around the planet” because of the virus.
